The Westpac Landcare Education Award
This award will be made to a primary or secondary school or youth group – either as a whole class or special group. The award is for the school / group’s contribution to raising awareness, knowledge and understanding of Landcare amongst students and/or the community, and for implementing Landcare practices on its own property or within the local community.
Judging criteria
Judges will consider the extent to which you have:
- improved understanding and skills of your student group and/or the community.
- implemented landcare education projects (i.e. you extend learning and skills-development classes into practical on-ground activity).
- helped others learn about Landcare, (e.g. students and/or the wider community).
- developed cross curricula or community activities or resources which recognize and use the Landcare ethic.
- used sound planning, consistent with good Landcare principles and the project is supported within the organization.
